Angirid MR Tablet 35 mg contains Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride, a metabolic anti-ischemic agent used as an adjunct treatment for angina pectoris. Unlike conventional antianginal drugs that act mainly on heart rate or blood pressure, Angirid MR works at the cellular level to improve myocardial energy metabolism. The modified-release (MR) formulation ensures sustained drug delivery, providing prolonged therapeutic effect and better symptom control throughout the day.

Active Ingredient: Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride
Strength: 35 mg
Dosage Form: Modified-release oral tablet
Metabolic Antianginal Agent
Anti-ischemic cardiovascular medicine
Angirid MR Tablet 35 mg is indicated for:
Chronic Stable Angina Pectoris as add-on therapy
Management of myocardial ischemia when conventional antianginal treatment is insufficient
Improvement of exercise tolerance and reduction in frequency of angina attacks
Long-term supportive therapy in ischemic heart disease
Trimetazidine acts by optimizing cardiac energy metabolism during ischemic conditions. It selectively inhibits fatty acid oxidation and shifts myocardial energy production toward glucose oxidation, which requires less oxygen to generate the same amount of energy. This metabolic shift helps maintain adequate ATP levels in heart muscle cells, thereby protecting them from ischemic damage.
By preserving cellular energy balance, Angirid MR improves myocardial efficiency without affecting heart rate, blood pressure, or coronary blood flow. The modified-release formulation allows gradual drug release, ensuring consistent plasma levels and sustained antianginal action over 24 hours.
The usual recommended dose is 35 mg twice daily, preferably taken with meals.
Tablets should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed to maintain the modified-release property.
Dosage adjustments may be necessary in elderly patients or those with renal impairment, as advised by a physician.
Angirid MR Tablet is generally well tolerated. Some patients may experience:
Dizziness
Headache
Nausea or abdominal discomfort
Fatigue
Rarely, movement disorders such as tremor or rigidity with long-term use
Most side effects are mild and reversible upon discontinuation.
