Bet-A Cream 0.10% contains Betamethasone Valerate, a potent topical corticosteroid used for the relief of inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching associated with various corticosteroid-responsive skin disorders. It is designed for external use and provides effective symptomatic relief in both acute and chronic dermatological conditions when used as directed.
Betamethasone Valerate works by suppressing the inflammatory response in the skin. It reduces the release of inflammatory mediators, decreases capillary permeability, and minimizes immune reactions in affected areas. As a result, Bet-A Cream helps to rapidly control symptoms such as itching, erythema, and discomfort, improving overall skin condition and patient quality of life.

Betamethasone Valerate is a synthetic glucocorticoid with strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties. When applied to the skin, it penetrates the epidermis and dermis, where it inhibits the activity of phospholipase A2, reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. This action effectively suppresses inflammation and immune responses at the site of application. Systemic absorption is minimal when used appropriately, but may increase with prolonged use, application over large areas, or use under occlusive dressings.
Apply a thin layer of Bet-A Cream to the affected area once or twice daily, or as directed by a physician.
Gently rub until absorbed.
Do not apply on broken skin unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Duration of treatment should be limited to the shortest time necessary to control symptoms.
Bet-A Cream should be used with caution in children, as they are more susceptible to systemic absorption of topical corticosteroids. Use only under medical supervision and avoid prolonged or excessive application.
When used as recommended, side effects are uncommon. Possible adverse effects include:
Burning or stinging sensation
Skin thinning (atrophy)
Dryness or irritation
Hypopigmentation with prolonged use
Rarely, excessive or long-term use may lead to systemic corticosteroid effects.
