Pharmacology

Rupatadine is a selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist with additional platelet-activating factor (PAF) antagonistic activity. By blocking H1 receptors, rupatadine prevents the effects of histamine, a key mediator released during allergic reactions. Its PAF inhibitory action further enhances its anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory effects, making it effective in controlling both early and late-phase allergic responses.

Rupatadine helps reduce symptoms such as sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, watery eyes, and skin itching.
