Fiberlax 130 gm contains Ispaghula Husk, a natural bulking agent that promotes bowel regularity by increasing stool bulk and moisture. When taken with water, it forms a gel-like substance in the intestines, facilitating smooth and easy passage of stools. Fiberlax is widely used to treat constipation, support soft stool formation, and maintain healthy digestive function. It is also recommended for patients who require a high-fiber diet for overall gastrointestinal health.
Besides aiding bowel movements, Fiberlax can help lower LDL cholesterol and support colon health through the production of short-chain fatty acids during fermentation in the colon. This makes it suitable for patients with mild hypercholesterolemia or those aiming to improve gut and cardiovascular health naturally.

Bulk-forming Laxatives
Fiberlax 130 gm is indicated for:
Relief of constipation and promotion of regular bowel movements
Management of conditions requiring soft stools, e.g., hemorrhoids or anal fissures
Patients requiring a high-fiber diet for gastrointestinal health
Adjunct therapy for mild to moderate hypercholesterolemia
Ispaghula husk passes through the stomach and small intestine largely intact and reaches the caecum within four hours. It increases stool water content, wet and dry stool weight, and shortens gastrointestinal transit time. The soluble fibers are fermented by intestinal bacteria, producing short-chain fatty acids like acetate, propionate, and butyrate, which serve as energy sources for colonocytes and support colonic health.
Additionally, Ispaghula has hypocholesterolemic effects by enhancing cholesterol metabolism, reducing absorption, and lowering LDL cholesterol levels.
Fiberlax works by absorbing water in the intestines, forming a soft, bulky stool that stimulates peristalsis and promotes regular bowel movements. The fermentation of soluble fibers produces beneficial short-chain fatty acids that improve colonocyte function and may reduce inflammation in the gut.
