Composition

Each ml contains:

• Gadodiamide 287 mg

This formulation is designed for intravenous use as an MRI contrast medium.

Indications

Gadoscan Injection is indicated for:

• Contrast enhancement in MRI of the brain and spinal cord
• Detection of central nervous system lesions
• Evaluation of tumors and metastases
• MRI of liver, kidneys, and other abdominal organs (as prescribed)
• Vascular imaging (MR angiography)

Pharmacological Action

Gadodiamide works by:

• Altering local magnetic properties of tissues
• Shortening T1 relaxation time in MRI imaging
• Increasing contrast between normal and abnormal tissues
• Enhancing visualization of pathological lesions

It remains extracellular and is eliminated primarily via the kidneys.

Dosage & Administration

• Administered by intravenous injection only
• Dosage is based on body weight and type of MRI study

Side Effects

Contraindications

• Severe renal impairment (especially eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73 m²)

Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

Gadodiamide should be used during pregnancy only if clearly necessary. It is excreted in breast milk in small amounts; caution is advised during breastfeeding.
