Gestop 28 Tablet is a combination oral contraceptive containing Ethinyl Estradiol (0.03 mg) and Gestodene (0.075 mg). This dual-hormone formulation provides effective prevention of pregnancy and helps regulate menstrual cycles. Ethinyl Estradiol is a synthetic estrogen, while Gestodene is a third-generation progestogen. Together, they work by suppressing ovulation, altering cervical mucus to prevent sperm penetration, and modifying the endometrial lining to reduce the likelihood of implantation. Gestop 28 is designed for women seeking reliable birth control, cycle regulation, and reduction of menstrual-related symptoms.

Combination Estrogen-Progestogen Preparations
Ethinyl Estradiol is a synthetic estrogen that maintains the regularity of the menstrual cycle, stabilizes the endometrium, and contributes to contraceptive efficacy by suppressing the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).
Gestodene is a third-generation synthetic progestogen that inhibits luteinizing hormone (LH) secretion, preventing ovulation. It also thickens cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to enter the uterus, and induces changes in the endometrium to reduce implantation potential.
The combination of these hormones provides high contraceptive reliability while minimizing breakthrough bleeding and menstrual irregularities. Third-generation progestogens like Gestodene are associated with a lower risk of androgenic side effects such as acne and weight gain.
