Vitamin E Preparations
Vitamin E (tocopherol) is a fat-soluble antioxidant that protects polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin A, and vitamin C from oxidative damage. Its effects are particularly important in maintaining cell membrane integrity and preventing free radical-induced cellular injury.
In neonates: Deficiency may lead to irritability, edema, thrombosis, and hemolytic anemia.
In adults and children: Low tocopherol levels can cause creatinuria, ceroid deposition, muscle weakness, decreased erythrocyte survival, and increased susceptibility to oxidative hemolysis.

Deficiency in adults: 200–400 IU/day
Deficiency in children: 200 IU/day
