Indications

Losart Plus Tablet is indicated for:

• Essential Hypertension:
  For patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Losartan or Hydrochlorothiazide alone.

• Reduction of Cardiovascular Risk:
  Helps lower the risk of stroke and other cardiovascular complications associated with uncontrolled hypertension.

Pharmacology & Mode of Action

Losartan Potassium:

• Selectively blocks the AT1 receptor, preventing angiotensin II–mediated vasoconstriction.

• Reduces aldosterone secretion, decreasing sodium and water retention.

• Lowers systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure.

• Provides renal protection, especially in diabetic patients.

Hydrochlorothiazide:

• Acts on the distal renal tubules to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption.

• Increases urine output (diuresis), reducing plasma volume.

• Decreases peripheral vascular resistance over time.

Combined Effect:

Dosage & Administration

Drug Interactions
