Novatron Tablet 8 mg contains Ondansetron, a selective 5-HT3 (serotonin) receptor antagonist used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting. It is commonly prescribed for nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and certain gastrointestinal conditions.
Ondansetron works by blocking serotonin receptors in both the gastrointestinal tract and the central nervous system. Since serotonin plays a key role in triggering the vomiting reflex, blocking its action helps control nausea effectively.

For post-operative nausea, 8 mg may be given before surgery or as directed by a physician.
Swallow the tablet whole with water.

Always follow the healthcare provider’s instructions regarding dose and duration.
Ondansetron selectively blocks 5-HT3 receptors located peripherally on vagal nerve terminals and centrally in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) of the brain. By preventing serotonin from binding to these receptors, it interrupts the vomiting reflex pathway, thereby reducing nausea and vomiting.
