Indications

Telmivas Tablet is indicated for:

• Mild essential hypertension
• Initial therapy for blood pressure control
• Combination therapy for hypertension
• Cardiovascular risk reduction in appropriate patients
• Kidney protection in hypertensive diabetic patients (as prescribed)

Mechanism of Action

Telmisartan selectively blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors. Angiotensin II causes blood vessel constriction and increases blood pressure. By inhibiting this action, Telmisartan causes vasodilation, reduces aldosterone secretion, and lowers blood pressure, thereby improving cardiovascular and renal outcomes.
