Azmasol Inhaler 100 mcg/puff contains Salbutamol, a fast-acting short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (SABA) used for the rapid relief and prevention of bronchospasm in patients with reversible airway diseases. It is a metered-dose inhaler designed to deliver a precise dose of medication directly to the lungs, ensuring quick onset of action and effective symptom control.
Azmasol Inhaler is widely used in the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Its portable and easy-to-use design makes it suitable for both routine use and emergency relief of acute breathing difficulties. By providing rapid bronchodilation, Azmasol Inhaler helps patients breathe more easily and maintain normal daily activities.

Azmasol Inhaler 100 mcg/puff is indicated for:
Relief of acute bronchospasm in bronchial asthma
Prevention and treatment of exercise-induced bronchospasm
Management of reversible airway obstruction in COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema
Rapid relief of symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing
It may be used as a rescue inhaler during acute asthma attacks or as needed before exposure to known triggers.
Short-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (Bronchodilator)
Salbutamol acts by selectively stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors present in bronchial smooth muscle. Activation of these receptors leads to relaxation of airway smooth muscles, resulting in bronchodilation and improved airflow. This mechanism directly counteracts bronchoconstriction caused by asthma and other obstructive airway conditions.
After inhalation, salbutamol produces bronchodilation within minutes, providing rapid symptom relief. The duration of action typically lasts between 4 and 6 hours. Because the drug is delivered directly to the lungs, systemic exposure is limited, reducing the likelihood of unwanted side effects when used at recommended doses.
Adults and Children:
The usual dose is 1–2 puffs (100–200 mcg) as needed for relief of symptoms. For prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm, 2 puffs may be taken 10–15 minutes before exercise.
The total daily dose should not exceed the recommended limit as advised by a physician. Proper inhalation technique is essential to ensure effective drug delivery. Use of a spacer device may be beneficial, especially in children or patients who have difficulty coordinating inhalation.
Concomitant use of non-selective beta-blockers may reduce the bronchodilating effect of salbutamol. Caution is advised when Azmasol Inhaler is used alongside other sympathomimetic agents, diuretics, or xanthine derivatives, as these combinations may increase the risk of hypokalemia. Careful monitoring is recommended when used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants.
Azmasol Inhaler is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to salbutamol or any component of the formulation. It should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus, or a history of arrhythmias.
Common side effects include tremor, nervousness, headache, palpitations, muscle cramps, and throat irritation. Less common effects may include tachycardia, dizziness, or transient changes in blood potassium levels, especially with frequent use or high doses.

Salbutamol should be used during pregnancy only if the expected benefit outweighs potential risks. Caution is advised when administering to breastfeeding mothers, as small amounts of salbutamol may be excreted in breast milk.
