Ezeta Tablet 10 mg contains Ezetimibe, a lipid-lowering agent used primarily for the management of hypercholesterolemia. It is effective in reducing elevated levels of total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and non-HDL cholesterol. Ezeta Tablet can be used as monotherapy or in combination with statins when dietary modification alone is insufficient to achieve target lipid levels.
Ezeta Tablet works through a unique mechanism that complements statins, making it a valuable option for patients who are unable to tolerate high-dose statin therapy or require additional cholesterol reduction. By lowering LDL cholesterol, Ezeta Tablet helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, and stroke.

Each tablet contains:
Ezetimibe 10 mg
Therapeutic Class:
Cholesterol absorption inhibitor
Ezeta Tablet 10 mg is indicated for:
Primary hypercholesterolemia (heterozygous familial and non-familial)
Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia, as adjunctive therapy with statins
Homozygous sitosterolemia (phytosterolemia)
Reduction of elevated total cholesterol and LDL-C levels
It is recommended as an adjunct to diet and lifestyle modification.
Ezetimibe selectively inhibits the absorption of cholesterol and related plant sterols at the brush border of the small intestine. It acts by blocking the Niemann-Pick C1-Like 1 (NPC1L1) transport protein, which is responsible for intestinal cholesterol uptake. As a result, less cholesterol is delivered to the liver, leading to increased clearance of cholesterol from the blood.
Unlike statins, Ezetimibe does not inhibit cholesterol synthesis in the liver and therefore has minimal effect on triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). This distinct mechanism allows additive LDL-C reduction when used together with statins, without significantly increasing adverse effects.

The recommended dose of Ezeta Tablet is 10 mg once daily
Can be taken with or without food
May be used alone or in combination with statins
Should be taken consistently at the same time each day
Dietary cholesterol control should be continued during therapy.
Concomitant use with bile acid sequestrants may reduce Ezetimibe absorption
Cyclosporine may increase Ezetimibe exposure
Use with fibrates should be done cautiously due to potential gallbladder-related risks
Patients should inform their physician about all concomitant medications.
Ezeta Tablet is contraindicated in patients with:
Known hypersensitivity to Ezetimibe or any component of the formulation
Moderate to severe hepatic impairment when used with statins
Active liver disease in combination therapy
Ezeta Tablet is generally well tolerated. Commonly reported side effects include:
Headache
Abdominal pain
Diarrhea
Fatigue
Rare side effects may include elevated liver enzymes, myalgia, or hypersensitivity reactions, especially when used with statins.
The safety of Ezetimibe during pregnancy and lactation has not been well established. Use during pregnancy is not recommended. Caution should be exercised during breastfeeding, and therapy should be initiated only if the potential benefit justifies the possible risk.
Liver function tests should be monitored when used with statins
Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
Discontinue therapy if unexplained muscle pain or weakness occurs
Not a substitute for dietary and lifestyle modifications
