Indapril Tablet 2 mg + 0.625 mg is a combination antihypertensive therapy containing Perindopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and Indapamide, a thiazide-like diuretic. This synergistic formulation is specifically designed to effectively control high blood pressure, reduce cardiovascular risk, and support kidney function in patients with hypertension. By combining two complementary mechanisms, Indapril provides enhanced blood pressure reduction while minimizing fluid retention and cardiovascular strain.

Antihypertensive Agents
ACE Inhibitors & Thiazide-Like Diuretics Combination
Each tablet contains:
Perindopril – 2 mg
Indapamide – 0.625 mg
Indapril Tablet 2 mg + 0.625 mg is indicated for:
Hypertension: Management of essential high blood pressure to prevent complications such as stroke, heart attack, and kidney damage.
Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: In patients with established cardiovascular risk, this combination helps reduce the incidence of heart failure and other vascular events.
Edema Management: Effective in patients with mild fluid retention due to its diuretic component.
Perindopril inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), which reduces the production of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor. This results in vasodilation, decreased peripheral resistance, and lower blood pressure. It also decreases aldosterone secretion, which helps reduce sodium and water retention.
Indapamide is a thiazide-like diuretic that promotes sodium and water excretion while conserving potassium, helping to reduce blood volume and lower blood pressure. It also has mild vasodilatory effects, contributing to its antihypertensive activity.
The combination of Perindopril and Indapamide provides complementary mechanisms: Perindopril primarily reduces vascular resistance, while Indapamide addresses fluid retention, leading to a balanced and effective blood pressure reduction.
Adults: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning with or without food.
Dose adjustments may be necessary in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, electrolytes, and renal function is recommended during therapy.
Potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements may increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may reduce antihypertensive effects.
Other antihypertensive drugs may have additive blood pressure-lowering effects.
Lithium: Risk of toxicity may increase if taken concurrently.
History of hypersensitivity to Perindopril, Indapamide, or other ACE inhibitors or sulfonamides.
Severe renal impairment or anuria.
Pregnancy and lactation (risk of fetal harm).
History of angioedema related to previous ACE inhibitor therapy.
Common side effects may include:
Dizziness or lightheadedness
Headache
Fatigue
Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhea)
Cough (associated with ACE inhibitor)
Less common but serious effects:
Hypotension
Hyperkalemia or hyponatremia
Angioedema
Renal dysfunction
Pregnancy Category D: Contraindicated during the second and third trimesters due to risk of fetal harm. Use only if clearly needed in the first trimester under medical supervision. Caution is advised during breastfeeding.
Monitor renal function and serum electrolytes, especially in elderly patients or those with kidney disease.
Avoid abrupt discontinuation; gradual dose adjustment may be required.
Caution in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or electrolyte imbalances.
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
